What do I do – Identify trends before others and ensure the product/brand innovation will deal to the trend and – where appropriate -offer commection services

What don’t I do – I don’t produce or use any existing media in commection. Rather, we create new ways to achieve authentic connection with communication. Clients use existing partners for normal stuff – like digital, TV… etc

1989 UK and Europe: Barclays Bank – Reviewed product targeting strategy

1990 – 92 Trained in Qualitative Research with RSL, London

1992 – 93 Senior researcher with HPI: A communication/ad development agency, which consulted to London’s leading advertising agencies. Key clients included Saatchi, Abbot Mead Vickers and TBWA

1993 – 96 Director with Added Value (now part of WPP) the world’s first Marketing Agency specialising in trends/innovation. Specialised in new product development for Pepsico, Shell, Ford, Walkers, Safeway, Miller Brewing, Levis and Unilever

1996 – 97 Planner at Y&R Holland developing a strategic branding unit called consult which developed KLM’s global brand strategy

1998 – 99 Director for Research International Auckland – key clients to date included consulting to Grey NZ and Frucor Beverages

2000 – 02 Entrepreneurship: Partner of boutique research based strategic firm Fast Forward – working with key Trans-Tasman corporates: Frucor, Kimberly Clark and Fosters

2002 – 05 Founded Chisel, NZ’s first dedicated Marketing Engineering Company – specialising in brand strategy/new product development for trans tasman blue chips Mercury, Cadbury and ANZ. Completed a management buy out in 2004, to pursue further premium consulting opportunities globally

2005-2007 Set up passive income streams (property and trading) and dealt with some large ‘family stuff’
